Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Tourism

Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) is a must-visit cultural tourist destination when you are on vacation in Bali. Located in Ungasan, South Kuta, GWK combines the splendor of art, spirituality, and modern entertainment.

A vacation at GWK is not just about looking at statues, but also immersing yourself in the culture on offer.
Here are some of the exciting activities you can do here.

Garuda Head

This is the Garuda head statue, one of the early installations that was built long before the main statue was completed. At that time, when the main statue was not yet completed, this Garuda head statue became the main symbol of GWK park. Until today, the head statue is still a popular photo spot due to its rich and artistic carving details.

Setting and atmosphere:

  • There are many green trees that reflect the tropical atmosphere of Bali.
  • The clear sky with few clouds makes for perfect lighting for photography.
  • Some visitors were seen enjoying the garden area, indicating that it is also a place for leisurely strolls and photos.

Road Characteristic:

Surrounded by Limestone Cliffs :

  • The high cliffs on the left and right of the road are the result of cutting large limestone rocks that used to be natural hills.
  • These cuts were made to create access paths and performance arenas in the GWK park area.

Neat Asphalt Road :

  • The road looks new or very well-maintained, adding to the comfort of visitors who walk or take the shuttle.
  • The combination of green trees and bright blue sky makes the atmosphere peaceful and photogenic.
